Random Bookshelf Reading 96

Random Bookshelf Reading 96

Question: This year?

Answer:  "A soapy hand found his mouth and clamped over it.  She gripped his shoulder so hard that her fingernails pierced his skin.  Through the bedlam in the caverns sounded the clatter of steps close at hand.  Guards were running blindly through the Sanitation stalls.  The infrared lights had not yet been repaired." (p.71)

From The Stars My Destination by Alfred Bester.
